Angela Duncan

Founder / Piano Instructor

Angela Duncan has a passion for piano pedagogy and enjoys collaborating with musicians through accompanying and ensemble playing. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Georgia Southern University and a Masters of Music  in Piano Performance from Valdosta State University.
 
 She grew up in Hong Kong, China, where she competed in local and national music competitions, and has been in demand as a soloist and accompanist ever since. With over a decade of experience teaching private lessons, every year is still a joy. She values networking with other music teachers, and serves as the current president of the Music Teacher's National Association's(MTNA) local chapter. Angela believes there is intrinsic value in musical investment, she desires to help others experience the incredible enrichment to life that the piano brings.

Josh Duncan
Piano & Woodwind Instructor / Instrument Technician
Josh Duncan is a multi-instrumentalist from Brunswick, GA. His studies have had a focus in jazz, classical. First earning his Bachelor’s from Georgia Southern University in 2014, and then his Master's degree from Valdosta State University in 2016. His education included a work/study apprenticeship as a band instrument repair technician . His playing can be heard throughout the region either as the leader of the Azalea City Jazz Quartet, or as a soloist with the various bands and orchestras he performs with.

Josh is available for lessons on piano, and woodwinds. He also provides services including maintenance, and repairs for pianos and band instruments.

Tyler Griffin

Piano / Composition Instructor

Tyler is a pianist, composer, and arranger from Gainesville, GA. He has Studied jazz at both Valdosta State University and Florida State University, earning his respective bachelor's and master's degree in music performance. Tyler plays piano and keyboard for the several jazz and contemporary music ensembles in the Southeast region. He is building a portfolio of works as a free lance composer and arranger of video game music.

​Tyler believes that music pedagogy fosters an appreciation for collaboration and diligence, and that it encourages students to embrace artistic expression. With that outlook, he aims to inspire and assist them in learning about the merits that music performance can yield. Schedule a lesson with Tyler to study Piano, composition, or jazz

Kirston Waters
Brass Instructor
Kirston Waters is a professional horn player in south Georgia and a music and band teacher at St. John Catholic School in Valdosta. She regularly plays with both the Valdosta and Albany Symphony Orchestras, and she teaches pre-k through 8th grade music classes. Kirston has a Bachelor's degree in music education from Mercer University in Macon, GA and a Master's degree in music performance from Valdosta State University. 

Kirston is a well-rounded musician and has played in a variety of ensembles since she began playing the horn in 2006, including several wind ensembles, marching bands, brass and woodwind quintets, horn quartets, horn choirs, brass choir, and church orchestra. With her years of experience, she believes in the educational philosophy that music plays a significant part in building academic skills, personal confidence, cooperation, and strong peer relationships. 

Kirston is available for lessons in all brass instruments.

Dave Rodock

Guitar Instructor

David Rodock is a guitarist that has lived in Valdosta, Georgia since 2004. His childhood was spent performing and singing in churches along with a few years of formal piano instruction before switching to the guitar at the age of fourteen. Mr. Rodock has spent the last fifteen years honing his skills in a variety of genres including, bluegrass, jazz, roots music and blues. He has performed with many local musicians in the last decade covering a wide variety of styles and spends most weekends as a working musician all over the region.

​You can register for lessons with Mr. Dave on acoustic/electric Guitar, bass guitar or ukulele.

Leslie Smith
Drums/Percussion Instructor
Leslie Smith, was born and raised in Lakeland GA. He attended school at Lanier County. In sixth grade Leslie joined one of the middle school band and was asked to join the high school marching band while in seventh grade. Leslie became drumline captain his ninth grade year and remained captain throughout high school. He was also the drummer for the school's jazz band during the same period of time. After graduating high school Leslie went on to study music at Valdosta State while also teaching and playing with various groups locally. Leslie Smith is currently teaching percussion at Lanier County Middle and High School.
